How To Make A Successful Blog Website

Making a blog is one of the more common website types; it can be very personal and very impersonal, making blogs very versatile. However, one thing is very clear; blogs can still be extremely profitable, with moderate amounts of work. Blogs can take anywhere from three months to three years to get a great profit going. Let me show you how!

Step 1: Get a Domain, Script, and Website Hosting.

I have decided to combine these three, technically four steps (script installing would be step 4), but in order to save time I have combined them. So, down to business, get a domain, but first choose a topic for your blog, for example, InternetIncomeTeacher.com is a blog that teaches people how to make money online, you can also do a blog about your personal life, your hobbies, or another topic such as search engine optimization! After you have chosen your topic, choose a domain name you like, from a registrar you like (such as MadDogDomains.com), make sure to choose a domain with a few keywords about your blog topic. Next, buy or download a script you like. I highly recommend WordPress, this script is fantastic for blogs and it is very search engine friendly with a few add-ons. For InternetIncomeTeacher.com we use a couple add-ons, such as the All-In-One SEO pack, and the XML sitemap-generator. This makes our website very search engine friendly and very easy for Google to index! Here are some templates to customize your new blog with, and here is the plugins directory. Now, you will need great website hosting, and as I have always suggested, use hostmonster.com. Yes they make you pay for a year in advance, but trust me, it is worth it! You don’t want your website being taken offline because your billing information was denied by a hosting company that does month to month billing. Lastly, script installation, and as always I offer a service to all my readers, $5 is full script installation! Email me at gschneider@internetincometeacher.com for an installation request!

Step 2: Write Content to Your Heart’s Desire!

Some people don’t like to write, I am one of those people. But when you find a topic you love to talk about, well, talk about it! Only to a sheet of paper, seriously! I find that writing your ideas down on paper and acting like you’re talking to someone next to you will really help you expand on that specific article and make it interesting to your readers. When I write these articles I am excited to write, and I normally hate writing! So give it a try! And also email me and tell me what helps you write!

Step 3: Promote Your Blog!

Most people have a difficult time with this step, because it is the hardest and most time consuming. However, promoting your website doesn’t really have to be all that hard and time consuming. Most bloggers only promote their websites through two sources: webmaster forums, and article directories.

First, webmaster forums, if you are already active in a webmaster forum, for example I am active in the webmaster forum DigitalPoint, I simply add a catchy title and URL to my blog on my signature and go about posting normally, if you make an average of one post a day on a webmaster forum, that can lead hundreds of interested and targeted readers to your blog every few days! Imagine now if you post actively, like 10 posts a day! That could mean thousands of visitors every month! Another great way is to actually post an article or two of yours in these webmaster forums, this will help increase exposure to your website as well as get readers interested in you and your content faster, because more people will read it, and if they like it and you put a URL at the bottom with a title that says something to the effect of “for more great articles, click here!” They will hopefully subscribe to your websites RSS feed, or bookmark your website!

Next, article directories, this is the best place for bloggers to get their articles read and their blogs promoted. Millions of people use article directories every month in search of something to read or learn about, and if your content just happens to be what they are looking for, then you might have yourself another subscriber to your blog! I have heard several bloggers tell me that the only article directory that they use is ezinearticles.com; this is contrary to what I will tell you. I will tell you that while ezinearticles.com is a fantastic article directory, arguably one of the best; it is not the only place you should submit your articles to. I have provided a link to a list of over 200 article directories, at the top of this paragraph, and I will suggest that you submit your articles to as many of those as you have time for. The more you submit to, the faster your blog will climb to the top!

Step 4: How To Make Money Off Your Hard Work $$!

The final step, how to make money off your hard work. This has been a controversial step between me and a few of my fellow blogging buddies, some say that it is better to not have any ads on your website to start out, they say that the ads will kill your reader base and will drive more readers away. While I say that if you don’t use too many annoying pop-ups or ads that have sound files, you will be fine. I highly recommend using Google Adsense; they have high quality ads that will not get in your way, not to mention that they pay very well. However, don’t blow off what they say just because I tell you to ignore them. Too much of any kind of ad will be annoying. I recommend extreme moderation for your first few months, no more than two ads, one on bottom of every article (428×60), and maybe one skyscraper on the side (120×600 pixels).

When you get big… I, as well as most bloggers, will recommend that you sell your own ads. This is the most profitable part of blogging. While your income from Google will be nice, I recommend investing in an ad banner manager script so that you can sell ads yourself. I can’t give any good recommendations because I haven’t found a good ad managing script. I just do it the old fashion way. Using a combination of Microsoft Office: Excel and a calendar with alerts, customer buys a monthly ad, I note it on Excel and put it on a calendar and a month from the date the ad goes up, the ad will come down, this is simple and effective and requires little work; and one week till the ad expires I send an email telling the advertiser to renew or else the ad comes down.

And that’s how you start a successful blog, a bit of elbow grease and due diligence and you will be off to a fantastic start. I used to be a subscriber of a blog that made over $20,000 every month, and this article is a tribute to that blog.

Thank you very much! And I hope you read some of my other articles on various types of websites!

Sincerely Your

Internet Income Teacher

The Easiest of Ways to Create a Successful Blog

The concept of Web 2.0 has created a revolution over the Internet. It has single handedly created the new Internet, which caters to the businessman looking out for business as well as the individual who wishes to have clear, concise and factual information.

If Web 2.0 is the heart of new and successful Internet, the power of Blogging is the very spine of this wonderful concept called Web 2.0. The interesting part is that you can create a blog about almost everything and anything in this world around you. Blog is a personal website, which is stored on a common server. So you can create a blog about yourself, your job, basically your own diary.

Blogging is a boon to the new Internet Marketer. They can actually market and introduce their product to the general public almost for free. Here are 5 tips to creating a successful Blog.

Give the Content, First: Say whatever you wish to say to your reader before you even get into the ad-mad world of the Internet. Ensure that the content is relevant and witty and yet simple and concise. In this era of attention deficit, everyone prefers to read simple and concise content rather than reading a tome of knowledge that you have to offer. Be it about yourself or about any product that you are marketing.

Also, make it a point to stress for original and factual content as far as possible. If possible, make it a point to look after the formatting of the content and the website in such a way that the reader comes to your blog to rest and read, rather than read and run. More time spent on your blog just means that you have more time to convince the random web visitor into a prospective client.

Wit: All said and done, the Blog is your personal space, and you can be a bit creative and informal while you writing on your blog. In fact, the individuality of the blog makes it unique.

Lay out the Layout: Every Blog website comes with its own default themes which you can choose. You do not have to be a usability guru to understand which theme and layout would be the best for your users. I would suggest that you use an eye-pleasing and brain-cooling theme for your blog. Yes, that means that black backgrounds are out, and so are huge, larger than life font sizes and font shapes. A necessary tip while we are on fonts: Make it a point to use only those fonts that are generally available on the personal computer. If you do wish to use another font, at least make it a point to keep the common fonts, like Arial, verdana and times new roman as options while making out the blog page. Ensure that the layout is not too cluttered and is easy to navigate and move around in.

Do Not Information Over Load: Yes, that nifty trivia widget you have found looks cute, but try to think and decide whether it will add any extra or actual value to your blog. Too many external widgets or modules will just render your blog into a heavy lard of web coding that does not work this way or that.

Describe Your Blog: It is very necessary for you to describe your blog first to yourself and then the reader. Remember that a professional blog and a private blog are much different and never the twain shall meet.

Blogging for Internet Marketers: How to Create a Successful Blog

In today’s Internet Marketing environment having a Blog is not just a nice to have it’s becoming essential. More and more people are reading Blogs and they offer great opportunities to promote your products or services. In addition if your Blog becomes popular you can create a good passive income through the adverts that you carry.

As an Internet Marketer if you want to create a really successful blog, there are three main things that you need to concentrate on to get started. Many Internet Marketers make the mistake of thinking that building a successful blog is one of the easiest tasks out there and they couldn’t be more wrong! A successful Internet Marketer needs to do more than just set up a blog page to chat about their products. You need to focus on three essential building blocks in order to have a successful Internet Marketing blog. These three building blocks are not enough of themselves to make your Internet Marketing blog successful however they will give you a great start.

Look

The first building block for a successful Internet Marketing blog is The Look. What this means is that your blog should start with an appropriate style. A style which reflects the rest of your online business or at the very least conveys your professionalism. You can begin when you first start your blog. Many blogging software programmes will help you out with the style of your blog. If you are using a blogging programme that is aimed mainly at beginners, you will find that it will offer different templates for you to choose. There will be something for everyone. You can go through the templates to choose which colours you like best for the layout. Experiment with the layouts to see which templates look best on the computer screen and which most readily match the rest of your Internet Marketing sites. You have the option to go back and change the template later if you want to change the look of your Internet Marketing blog. Make sure that if you are creating your own Internet Marketing blog, without using a pre-created template that you make it look as professional as possible. You can even hire a professional to do the job for you if you wish. The more professional your blog looks, the more seriously your readers and potential customers will take your posts.

Content

The content of your Internet Marketing blog is the second key building block you will need for a successful blog. While you can choose to create posts that have no direction or purpose, you will find that when you post interesting commentary or short information filled articles that your traffic will increase. Although you may think it is interesting, most readers will not enjoy reading about your day to day Internet Marketing activities, unless you make them into humorous stories.

It should also be noted that the more content you have on your site, the more successful your site will be. It is basically a numbers game at this point. The more you post, the more chances you will have that one of your posts will attract the eye of someone searching for a related topic.

Advertisements

The third building block is advertising. Internet Marketing Bloggers can make a steady passive income using advertising on their blogs. The trick is to have a good mixture of ads and content however. If you fill your blog with ads and have no content for readers, they will be distracted and not visit your site again. A good rule to remember is that you should never have more than two or three ads per blog page. This is an important rule to remember. You should not overwhelm you readers with ads. You should only present them so that the readers can further explore them if they wish. Don’t use flashing ads or other bold ads that will annoy your readers. Choosing the right type of advertising program is part of it as well. In fact I would go as far as to say that the best way to advertise is by using Google’s Adsense Programme which will place ads relevant to your Internet Marketing activities—as long as you talk about them in your content! You have the option with Google Adsense to filter out your direct competitors which is an added bonus.

Dedication

The most important building block of a great Internet Marketing blog is dedication. You must be willing to be dedicated to your blog. You have to put in the time and energy to get positive results. Even with the other components in place, unless you take the time to update your posts on a regular basis, you will not be getting optimum results. Dedication can help a lot. It can mask the fact that you are a beginner and allow you to create a profit producing and functional Internet Marketing blog. No matter how little experience you have simple dedication can take you a long way and you are learning all the time whilst building up your Internet Marketing activity. You can have a great blog as long as you take the time to commit to your latest Internet Marketing project.

Setting Up a Successful Business Blog

Whether you own an off-line or on-line business, you can not truly succeed until you have harnessed all the opportunities offered by the Internet. Nothing proves this fact as clearly as the power of business blogs to bring your products to the attention of millions of online users who can skyrocket your sales. A business blog is a cheap, user friendly and flexible marketing tool by means of which you can advertise your wares and gain a distinct advantage over your competitors.

Creating a business blog with an effective review of your products/services enables their almost instant promotion, as millions of bloggers spread the word to their readers about what is on offer. Nowhere else would you be able to get such a degree of free publicity with so little effort and expense. With brand recognition, comes brand loyalty as customers realise that here is a businessman/woman who wishes to communicate with them and to respond honestly to their concerns, queries and suggestions. This type of direct feedback from potential buyers would in turn help to improve the quality of your products/services as well as monitor their buying patterns. Incorporating this information into your marketing strategies will further increase your sales figures.

If you decide that your business will merit from having a blog, the first thing you should do is research the whole concept of blogging as it relates to consumer based enterprises, the do’s and don’ts of blogging and a realistic evaluation of the expenditure in time, effort and money as well as the projected increase in sales and the time scale when this should occur. Try out the various blog hosting services available and test drive those that you think would best suit your enterprise. Once you understand exactly how blogs work and how you can optimize them for maximum profit, it is time to set out your official business blog.

But first there are certain steps to be taken if you want to maximize the benefit of your business blog to your enterprise, whether it be online or offline.

1) Blog Design – All free blog hosting services provide templates that can be customized. But if you want your blog to accurately reflect the nature and requirements of your business, you can opt for paid blog service and hire a design artist to create a layout that is compatible with your specifications. Have a few extra designs developed and rotate them so that you can experiment and see which one has the best pulling power in terms of increasing visitors to your blog.

2) Select Topics – While the overall theme of the blog reflects your business strategies, you should have a number of topics on related matters to post to your blog. This way your readers will get to understand you and your overall thinking on general and specific business practices. This will help them to decide how much trust to place on you, your recommendations and finally but most importantly on your products/services. Writing on matters other than your own enterprise prevents your blog from being too much of a marketing ploy, so your readers will not be put off when you do mention your own merchandise.

3) Formulate Blog Policies – Set policies in place that take into account any legal issues that maybe involved. Take legal advice on what to include under disclaimers and limitations of liabilities. Decide who gets to blog and what information is allowed to be made public. Since business blogging is a comparatively new phenomenon, perhaps the staff needs to be educated on how it can positively impact on your enterprise.

4) Follow Up – Once you start your business blog, you must have at least 20 – 25 posts before you launch your marketing campaign. Update the content at regular intervals, always making sure that it is original, relevant and emphasizes your company’s core values. If you regularly track feedback from your readers, you will be able to fine tune your marketing and advertising campaigns to attract more dedicated customers. Finally, add your website URL to your business blog before you start submitting it to blog search sites and directories. In order to increase your ranking on search engines and get a regular flow of visitors, use keyword phrases that are most effective and relevant to your blog.

These simple and easy to follow tactics should help you in setting up a business blog that complements your other business practices and make your endeavors even more successful and financially rewarding.
