Basic Web Structure

The chances of search engines successfully locating and indexing your web site all lies within optimizing its basic structure. Search engine ranking algorithms, such as Google and Yahoo, analyze several on-site elements when trying to determine where a web page ranks for certain search terms and phrases. These factors normally include:

Web site content
Domain name
Browser capability
Web site structure
Navigational linking structure
Page accessibility
Credibility

There are several ways to efficiently optimize for the factors listed above. These things include: choosing reliable web hosting, choosing an appropriate domain name, optimizing your web site for all web browsers, creating logical site structure and navigational menus, generating a sitemap, and creating an About Us page and a privacy policy page.

A well laid out design and structure helps to improve any businesses or entrepreneur’s performance of their web site and also helps users to navigate it, allowing search engines to better find and index all of the written content which is included on the web site.

You should ask yourself the following questions during the web design process:

Is my site appealing to visitors?
Is my web site search engine friendly?

Web Designing The General Structure Of The Website

1. Take a break – When you are trying to create a new design for a client, there really is no point to staring at the computer screen watching your mouse draw boxes on the Photoshop canvas. Take a break: exit out of Photoshop completely and do something else for a bit that allows your mind to open up. for visit to:-www.instant-website-security.com Try going for a jog (or maybe a walk if you are not the running-inclined), or even playing a video game or watching television. The key here is to take your mind off of the fact that you are having a hard time coming up with a design. Then, when you return to your favorite image editing program (do make sure to return), you will have a fresh mind. Or, better yet, an idea will have already hit you when you were on the break!
2. Colors – Color is a big part of design. So, instead of just sitting there, go find something colorful to look at. It can be something physical like a painting or sculpture, or it can be something digital such as color sharing websites (like http://colourlovers.com and http://kuler.adobe.com/). A nice thing about the latter is that those kind of websites usually allow you to download a pallet for Photoshop so you can quickly jump in and start playing around with the colors. If you don’t like a certain pallet, just switch to another one – easy.
3. Start somewhere different – Instead of starting where you usually start, try something different. If you usually start creating the logo first, begin by. Use different shapes to give you inspiration – try different rounded borders radii, try not using rounded borders. If you usually start at the opposite end of the spectrum, try creating the logo first. Start out with some basic text – maybe the website name or URL. for visit to:-www.instant-squeeze-page-mastery.com Then spice it up… would that ampersand look better as a different font? Maybe you should use different colors separating different parts of the title? Play with font styles and sizes.
4. Get new fonts/brushes – No designer can have enough fonts & Photoshop brushes. Go searching for new ones – download a whole directory of fonts and brushes and play around with them in Photoshop. Brushes are a great way to give inspiration: pick a good brush at a decent size and start splatting it on the canvas. You may be able to actually fit what you make into a design, but if you don’t you might find a good color contrast or an interesting effect.
5. Use other designers to your advantage – Web designers can be of great inspiration to each other, either directly or indirectly. Go out and talk to other web designers on IM, in person, on the phone, on social networking websites, etc. Let them know of your designer block – they will probably share similar experiences with you and how they overcame theirs. If you are not feeling so socially inclined you can also go out and look at other website templates for motivation – but be careful, you don’t want to rip anybody off.
So use these tips to your advantage. Let’s start with the first one – take a break! Good luck.

Role of Site Structure in Web Designing and Traffic

Search engine optimization is major feature for the search results. There are mainly two types of optimization: on page optimization and off page optimization.  On page search engine optimizations are things that we can change on our webpage. Off page search engine optimization comes down to basically 1 thing, which websites are linking to your website and how they’re doing it. The On page optimization aspect keeps in mind during the web site designing. I am recommending a little aspect of on page optimization which is usually do not take into account in web design that is site structure.

Site structure: Site structure plays an important job in search results.  The following are the main points which you should follow in site structure during the web site design.

1) Search engine optimization and the Main page

The most significant point is to optimize the main page of your site for word combinations such as index.html. This page is most likely to get to the top of search engine lists. My search engine optimization observations suggest that the main page may account for up to 30-40% percent of the total search traffic for some sites.

 2) Number of pages

The universal rule of search engine optimization is that the more, the better. Increasing the number of pages on your website increases the visibility of the site to search engines. If new information is being often added to the site, search engines consider this as progress and development of the site; moreover, you should sometimes publish more information such as events, articles, news, press releases, useful tips, etc on your site. This may give further benefits in ranking.

3) Navigation menu

According to rule, almost all sites have navigation menu. Use keywords in menu links, it will give additional search engine optimization importance to the pages to which the links refer.

4) Keywords in page names

The various search engine optimization professionals consider that using keywords in the name of a HTML page file may have a positive effect on its search result position.

5) Avoid sub directories

It is best to place too many pages on your site, all in the root directory of your site. Search engines consider such pages to be more important than ones in sub directories, so that you try to avoid sub directories.

6) One page – one keyword phrase

Search engine optimization try to optimize each page for its own keyword phrase. Sometimes you can choose two or three related phrases, but you should certainly not try to optimize a page for 5-10 phrases at once. Such phrases would probably produce no effect on page rank.

Site structure is important for search engine optimization results as well as it has major impact on web designing. The proper site structure provides the easily navigated, highly usable website which fascinates more visitors and customers for business

I hope you understand that how important the site structure in web designing.I advice you during the web site design don’t forget about site structure and make sure you remember these points. For more information visit http://www.wensil.com/
