It is such a delight for the interior designer to be able to transform a house into a home

As a professional London Interior Designer, I meet with clients all the time who simply crave more originality and personality in their interior spaces. It is such a delight for the interior designer to be able to transform a house into a home by judicious use of lighting, stencils, photo frames, rugs and frames, to name just a few. Each of the different classes of accessories allows the professional interior designer to lean into a certain style, emotion or personality framework in order to create stunning results. In this article, I will draw on my experience in London’s design community to suggest a few great options if you’re looking to spruce up your home this winter with some interior designer magic.

LIGHTING. If there are nooks and crannies that just don’t get enough light, interior designers may recommend low-voltage illumination to make your interiors look larger and more welcoming. This can also boost your mood – perfect for the gloomy and overcast London skies that are all too common this time of year. Some professional interior designers will recommend theatrical lighting moods, so that you can flip between settings to choose either relaxed, or atmospheric and edgy, or task-orientated, all according to your needs.

COLOUR. The hue of the lighting system can substantially impact the overall look of a room. Incandescent filaments are now being phased out across the European Union, and London interior designers are having to rely instead on compact fluorescents or halogens to create custom effects.

SCONCES. Wall-mounted sconces slide over lightbulbs to give a gentle fuzzy glow to a room. Interior designers sometimes combine glass outer sheaths with paper diffusers to create unique effects and soften the overall feel.

ARTWORK. Art is great, but well-lit artwork is even better – and interior designers are often specially-trained in how to perfectly illuminate choice pieces of art. Recessed lighting can be a great solution for both photographs and paintings. For sculptures, some interior designers love to use spotlights or feature lighting for more of a museum showcase feel.

INTERIOR DESIGNERS DO OUTSIDE, TOO! Exterior lighting is a great way to make a fabulous first impression for evening dinner guests or invitees to a luxury London soiree at your designer home. Exterior lighting solutions can even cast light indoors, as well … some interior designers like to be really creative and hide exterior lights in bushes or under trees to create natural diffusion before the light trickles in through the windows and makes fabulous patterns on the ceiling or wall.

This bring to an end my mini-series on how London interior designers use accessories, styles and history to create astonishing results.

How to Turn a Web Design Degree Into Instant Money

Do you have a degree in web designing? If you are then you are probably busy looking for a job in the Information Technology sector. If you are already an employee of some software giant then probably all that you have to your credit is a couple of episodes of low back pain and some creatively designed web pages ? the remuneration for which is happily resting in your company’s bank.

Now let us look into a couple of things in detail. How much knowledgeable are you about web designing? How many years have you put in this sector and what is the number of web pages that you have successfully designed? Well if you say that you are an expert in the subject, have a couple of years of experience and there are some good web pages that make you smile with pride ? then you are the right person to start earning on your own.

What keeps the oven burning in the kitchen for the I.T service providing giants? Well, they live on the orders they receive from their clients. They send in a price quotation along with work samples, establish a business relation and start delivering. The irony is that the real heroes who put in their heart and soul behind every design do hardly get noticed and paid for what they do. A web page design can cost anything from $20 to $250. How much does a designer get paid for every page? The answer would point to the fact that his salary is not justified.

Well, you can’t expect Manna from Heaven to compensate for your losses, but you can expect orders. Just change your mind set and hop on to the freelancing bandwagon. Freelancing not only offers you an independent work environment but also easy money because the buyer doesn’t need to pay for the overhead costs of a firm. These costs pile up on the designing cost and make it bigger than what the buyer wants to pay. If you have all that HTML, DHTML, ASP.Net mumbo jumbo running wild in your head, web site owners are looking for you. The good news is, designing is by far the most wanted service from project creators. Just search the net for designing work and you will come across scores of web ? sites offering work.

It is advisable to first establish your name in the freelancing arena by offering high quality work for nominal prices. The gurus might say that under pricing ruins the market, but it actually doesn’t. First you should run after work by registering with different freelance sites or contacting web administrators or even joining designers’ forums. Once you have your name established with service buyers, then work will run after you.

How to Turn Your Blog Into a Money Making Machine

People blog for many different reasons. Some blog just to get their point of view out there. Some people keep blogs going just to communicate with a select group of like minded people. Some people blog just because they like the sound of their fingers on the keyboard and have a lot to say.

Then there are people who blog solely to make money. There are many ways to make money with a blog. One of the easiest ways to make money online by keeping a blog is the Google Adsense program. Another way to earn is with affiliate programs.

But hold on a second. Before we get into making money with a blog, we need to talk about how to start a successful blog.

I said there are many different kinds of blogs out there, but there are really only two types when you get down to it.

There are successful blogs and then there are unsuccessful blogs. But what makes a successful blog? If you are trying to make money with a blog, which is pretty much what we are focusing on here in this article, then getting a lot of targeted traffic makes a successful blog.

When a blog gets a lot of people to it on a daily basis, it can start to earn revenue through various advertising programs. Some of the best blogs are about very random things, but they get a lot of traffic.

The most effective way to make serious money with a blog is by getting a lot of like minded people to your website. If you want to run a blog about expensive sports cars, then you want to make sure you get a lot of people who are interested in sports cars to your site.

This should generally happen naturally as you constantly write articles about the same topic. So if you write a lot of articles about porsches, you should receive a lot of traffic from people interested in that type of car.

The first step to earning money with a blog is to get a lot of traffic. You need about two thousand views a day to earn anything serious.

Once you get some traffic to your blog, you should decide which advertising program you want to run on it. Many websites use google adsense because it is easy to get started with and can be very effective.

Other types of ads you can use are affiliate programs that you can find on sites like Clickbank and Commission Junction.

It will take about six months to a year before you start to get a lot of traffic to your blog, but if you stick with it and keep a good thematic focus, then you will absolutely be able to make money with your blog.

Choose a topic that you are passionate about and your job will be much easier. Good luck.
